He specializes in comprehensive surgical and medical eye care including cataract and refractive surgery, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye conditions.

Dr. Mengarelli has experience with premium lens implants and surgical techniques to allow for correction of astigmatism and presbyopia during cataract surgery.  These techniques may significantly reduce the need for many patients to use glasses after cataract surgery. Dr. Mengarelli also offers all laser LASIK for nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.

He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology as well as the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.  Dr. Mengarelli is also an active member of the Christian Ophthalmology Society and currently serves on the board of that organization.

Dr. Mengarelli has a passion for fighting blindness not just here in the United States, but also by participating in surgical mission trips in other countries.  In recent years he has served on trips to Haiti and Peru.  He feels privileged to have been able to help restore sight to people blinded by cataracts in those places.

Before pursuing a career in medicine, Dr. Mengarelli utilized his Chemical Engineering degree and worked as a process design engineer.  He brings his passion for technical design and attention to detail to his patient care.  In fact, during his final year of residency training, Dr. Mengarelli completed research to find ways to further optimize vision for patients with astigmatism during cataract surgery.

While both originally from eastern Arkansas, he and his wife, Kimberly, discovered their love for Northwest Arkansas during his final years of training in medical school.  During that time Dr. Mengarelli completed rotations with various physicians in the area.  Dr. Mengarelli enjoys spending time with his family and serving in his church.  In his free time he enjoys canoeing, camping, and tinkering with electronics.  He and his wife are blessed to have two active boys.
