During the month of April, 2008, the Council for Refractive Surgery Quality Assurance conducted its USAEyes CORE Patient Survey, surveying LASIK patients from across the country on their level of satisfaction with their vision correction surgery. McDonald Eye Associates consistently outperformed competitors in nearly every category of patient satisfaction, from surgical outcomes to customer service.

Executive Summary
Overall your patients report outcomes that meet or exceed their expectations consistent with your peers. Your patients reported preop effects of presbyopia at a rate significantly lower than your peers’. Your patients are satisfied at a rate higher than you peers’ in nearly all areas and recommend you to friends at a rate much higher than your peers’. No patients said they would probably or definitely not recommend your to family and friends.

- 99.3% of your patients report they definitely or probably would recommend you to friends or family, compared to 96.3% of your peers’.
- 98.5% of your patients report they definitely or probably would recommend their surgery to friends or family, compared to 94.6% of your peers’.
- 96.9% of your patients report they definitely or probably would have their surgery again, compared to 96.0% of your peers’.
- 94.5% of your patients reported resolved or no complications, compared to 90.3% of your peers’.
- 4.7% of your patients report complications that are seldom problematic, compared to 7.4% of your peers’.
- 0.8% of your patients report complications that are frequently or always problematic, compared to 2.3% of your peers’.
