A true Razorback at heart, Dusty McIver, O.D., received his bachelor of science in biology from the University of Arkansas, and went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from Northeastern State University College of Optometry in Tahlequah, OK. He has performed numerous clinical rotations and gained valuable experience as he worked as an ophthalmic technician and contact lens manager prior to seeking his optometry degree. He was first introduced to McDonald Eye Associates when he completed his clinical externship here and was excited to join the team officially. Dr. McIver has been involved in many clinical trials, including AcuFocus®.
Dr. McIver sees patients of all ages and cares for a wide range of eyecare conditions, including primary eye are, glaucoma management, cataract diagnoses and pre/post-operative LASIK care. Dr. McIver stays connected professionally through his membership in the American Optometric Association, the Arkansas Optometric Association and the Optometric Council of Refractive Technology.
Some of Dr. McIver’s most rewarding volunteer work was with Hurricane Katrina evacuees. While there’s not much spare time with four children, when he has some he enjoys golf, travel, computers and cheering for the Razorbacks. He and his wife, Angela, have four children.
